Does anybody know the efficiency of a Fatboy speaker...that is...how many db at 1 watt at 1 meter?

Greater efficiency = louder for a given amount of power...

I am looking for the most efficient 2 inch speaker to get the most out of the railsounds modules err makes...so far, 88db is the best I have seen...in a DROK-branded speaker...

I think the only way to find the actual figure out is by setting up a test fixture which would require a calibrated mike and preferably an anechoic chamber. Alternatively you could compare the Fatboy to another speaker which has a known efficiency. There are apps with meters so you can compare relative sound levels on your computer, smart phone, or tablet.

I have the equipment to determine Thiele-Small parameters which are useful in designing ideal enclosures and even did a few toy train speakers before Lionel offered their Fatboys. Digital Dynamics Mega Bass was the king back then. Future testing will have to wait until the weather turns bad and I have nothing else to do. Not likely in the near future.
