Electro Coupler Removal | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I know, most people are adding electro couplers but I want to remove 2. I have a 20-2177 Southern F3 ABA that someone has added electro couplers between one A and the B. The gap is too far and I would like to get these units closer together. The units have been upgraded to PS2 which helps so I can program one engine unit out of the 3 ( A, B and an A), so tethers are not needed, but I do want to run both powered units together. I know that someone here has done an upgrade so you would have parts. I don’t need the tether or the linkage to connect the coupler to the trucks, just 2 dummy couplers to replace what I have between the A and the B. The way the electronics are connected, there is a plug with 2 wires going to the coupler. I am thinking if I unplug it, remove the couplers with this will come right out.

Removing the couplers is easy, you have the procedure. I don't happen to have any extra dummy couplers, but I'm sure they're readily available.

MTH has a much shorter coupler you can order.
