Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I just noticed in the new Lionel catalog that the PS1 boxcars depicted in the catalog seem to have no "Blt by Lionel" and stock number on the side, whereas the one depicted in the 2014 catalog has it. Has Lionel changed this practice? Thanks

Yes. It is now underneath the car. I believe the non-scale/traditional products still have it on the side of the car.
Yes, that was announced last year for all Standard-O (scale) trains. The traditionally sized lines will not be affected though.
In reality though, there's been no trains "built by Lionel" since they closed their Mt. Clemens factory well over a decade ago when the decision was made to outsource the manufacturing (even the recent made in USA products are manufactured by a 3rd party and not Lionel) so to have such a nomenclature on the trains seems pointless and misleading anyway, IMHO.

I agree. It should read: "built for Lionel"
I disagree with that statement, Grampstrains. None of the SCALE pieces of rolling stock should have ANY lettering on their sides except what is prototypical for the era modeled. Thus, no "blt by anybody"!!!!!
Well there certainly has been enough kvetching about it in the past.
Now we can kvetch about something else.
