How can one tell if a used atlas o engine master line or trainman has ERR cruise in it when buying used off ebay or the web?

This is a very good question. Sadly, Atlas’ website shows the most up to date features.
I would only guess to have the seller send you close up pictures of the bottom and pictures of the manual to show features.
Exzample: on one ebay listing they show the manual. the front cover shows train america studios logo on it, but in the ebay description box it says has ERR cruise. this is why I hesitate to by used atlas o engines for this very reason. I could asked the seller but sometimes they either just dont know or they dont tell the whole truth just to get it off there hands. sad but so true.
Both ERR and EOB are cruise. Atlas made the switch around 2007-2008. If you can find out when it was made you will have a better idea whats in there.

From my experience, I found that if it has TMCC , it more than likely has EOB. I own five Atlas O locomotives. They all have TMCC and EOB.
Actually, a lot of Atlas engines were shipped with the TAS SAW board, it does not have cruise. I'm afraid unless you know the particular engine, the logic that all of yours have cruise doesn't really cover the Atlas universe.

Also, there is an additional switch on the bottom of the engine. Normally, you have "run/program" switch, "sound/no sound" switch, "smoke/no smoke" switch and if equipped with EOB, you will see that as well (to turn off). If the seller on ebay is not sure, or can locate the switches. Have him/her check the owners manual, if there is EOB, the instruction manual will have that additional info in there as well.
