Have Lionel Chief Plus that works well with dedicated remote. Will not load on phone or I pad. What could cause this to happen and how to fix this so I can use Lionel app on phone again. I tried reloading app - no joy. Thanks in advance. Art

Art, first thing to do is make sure you have your phone's Bluetooth "on".
Rechecked - Bluetooth on.
Right...Bluetooth on. Then you have to "pair" the engine with your device. Go to the Bluetooth settings and you should be prompted to start the pairing process. Sometimes this will happen automatically.
Ok - I see pairing - for my car (not connected). Under that
I see other “devices listing” No loading of LC control. Just for a watch I do not have!
Engine beeps. Penn Rectifier # 6-82179 Works with included blue controller. Other LC engines load on phone easy. Need help. Thanks

Are you sure this engine has Bluetooth? Based on the number you provided, there is no mention of Bluetooth on the Lionel website or the 2016 Vol2 catalog....i think it is pre-Bluetooth.

Agree. I see this is a Rectifier. Unless I missed some, the entire run of LC+ Rectifiers was pre-Bluetooth. I have one (Virginian livery) and it is certainly not Bluetooth.
This one has to be controlled with the supplied remote or in conventional.

You do not pair a Bluetooth engine to a device in this manner. The device's Bluetooth must be on and then the pairing is done inside of the APP.
The LC+ rectifiers are not Bluetooth equipped. They are RF, so can only be controlled with the dedicated remote or with the Universal Remote.
