I have a Big Boy preordered for a August delivery, but in the interim, I found a very nice and affordable K-Line Big Boy that has now been restricted on part of my RR due to clearance issues.  The crew is out there now preparing to blast hydrocal and widen the cut.  I know the K-Line is little more diminutive of O scale but, does anybody know how far the pilot and cab of an MTH Big Boy hangs out over the side in a 72 inch curve?

As I told my buddy Lou, …just yank the throttle wide open, and let the Big Boy determine the clearance needed …..it will for sure show you …..😁

I found it will not blast a hole in 3/4" pine. Maybe I need more speed?

Anyway the overhang on a Premier MTH Big Boy, measured from the outside edge of an 072 curve, is hair over 2.5". That's the furthest point on the body, which is the walk way on either side of the boiler.
