I'll be bringing my son back to Yale soon and I'm sure to have some extra time. Erector Square still exists in New Haven. Is the old Gilbert/AF factory building still there? Is it worth going to see?

The building is there as it houses various artist. The Eli Whitney museum use to have running S gauge but I am not sure if it is permanent or seasonal. I am sure someone else will pipe up.

My favorite sight in New Haven is Union Station....lots of train activity and great Ogauge New Haven models in the waiting room.

I wasn't one to believe in miracles until Union Station actually reopened. The (re-)opening night party was a benefit for the New Haven Preservation Trust and was quite an event. The beginning of New Haven's return from the land of the living dead. To paraphrase Vince Scully: One used to scurry like a sewer rat from train through basement and out to street. Now one enters New Haven like a God.
