I have a Lionel AF Erie Lackawanna LEGACY U33C Diesel 6-48142. I just noticed that one of the smaller fragile railings is missing and I have no idea where it went. I checked the Lionel parts list online and railings are not listed at all. Anyone have an idea on this replacement whether original or a reasonable facsimile? It bothers me.

If I find that a part is " newly missing" on an engine I use my magnet on an extendable handle. I run the magnet around the floor near the layout first. If no luck there I run it along the track center then the sides of the tracks.

If you have never done this you mostly likely will be surprised what turns up on the magnet. I good strong magnet is best.

Even if you haven't lost a part it's a good idea to run the magnet along the layout now and then. Establshed layouts are less likely to have loose screws and such laying near the tracks.

The handrails on the U33C are delrin or similar plastic.

Contact Lionel service directly and explain exactly which part you need.
