I am doing an install with ERR AC commander into a PW 2343.   Previously had a TAS board that went bad ( after 25 years ). Anyway the new boards have a two prong connector for couplers ( not labeled as to hot or common )  I was going to test and install the hot lead to the coupler lead.  PW couplers are grounded to chassis .   One of my friends said I might short the board with a ground loop.  Has any one done this install recently?   I had no problems with TAS.  If you did install which prong is hot?

Thanks Art

Not train info specifically, but hot or common may be the actual wire turned off or on for any circuit. More modern stuff I’ve encountered adds or removes the common/ground side more often than hot.  Testing the leads for voltage to board ground tells me if wire #A is a switched hot. Testing the leads for continuity to board ground tells me if wire #A is a switched ground. (usually anyhow).  Getting it wrong short term tests rarely cook something else (never for me so far)
