I am installing a RS commander into a dummy unit so I had to purchase the mini commander for the dummy unit. The manuals they have are detailed but not one of them covers connecting this to a RS commander. Does anyone have a photo or instruction's specifically for this type of install? Any help would be appreciated as always.

What specific mini-commander are you using? There is a problem with the Mini-Commander EX and the new RS Commander, the serial drive isn't sufficient to trigger the sound board.
Ken assured me that this is their newer board so is should work.
It is the mini EX but would they still recommend it if it didn't work?
I'd check again, I've been told that one doesn't have the drive to run the RS Commander. I don't have any here, and since I heard that, I don't bother to buy them and run into that problem! I use the second one in the list, last time I installed it, it had no problem with the serial data. It's cheaper than the MC-EX as well. ;-)
One difference is the RCDR doesn't have incandescent light outputs, it has an LED output for the lights. That doesn't bother me as that's all I use.
Here's the wiring diagram for the RCDR.

I have 3 dummy engines with "Dummy Loco Controller" and RS Commander. They work great together like Gunrunnerjohn said.
Plan to add more in the future to my other dummy engines. In the video the 1st and last engines are dummy units with the setup in them.
