Is there any way to tell if an ERR sound board speaker output is 16 or 8 ohms? Unfortunately, I have one (FM sound) that got separated from the speaker that came with it about the time Third Rail was making the change. I emailed a week ago and got no response which is unusual for Mr. Mann.
All ERR and in fact all TMCC sound boards are built for 8 ohms of speaker impedance. Some Lionel locomotives used a pair of 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel to arrive at 8 ohms impedance overall.
