Considering upgrading a Lionel N&W warhorse 6-18040 w/pullmor motor to TMCC using an AC Commander. Question will the AC Commander play nice utilizing the original RS 2.5 sound board and ERR sound converter.

I just built up a GP9 last month. I am using a AC Commander connected to a Railsounds 2.5 platform, from the 1997 Milw Road GP9, They play very well together, it has very great sound and controls my LED lighting. Pics below...
MartyI have one question, why do you have a Railsounds 2.5 board in it along with a ERR sound Commander???

Marty I was referring to the ERR sound converter they came out with. It supposed to let older OEM sound boards function with their TMCC upgrade boards
If the original RS2.5 board communicated with the original TMCC LCRU2 board in command mode, it should communicate the same way with the AC Commander. The sound converter is used for the commander board to communicate with a conventional sound board, such as the original RailSounds 1.0 boards. I've done that myself and it works pretty well, though a heat shrink for the sound converter board is sometimes needed.
I hope you already have the AC Commander to do the upgrade. If not, you may have problems finding the board. Lionel announced that it was closing up ERR at the York meet and ERR is not taking any orders on their web site.
You beat me to it Joe, no more ERR products available, the order page is shutdown already.
Everyone I have all of the ERR components. Just wanted to know if I needed to insert an ERR sound converter between the RS 2.5 board and the AC commander in order for the RS 2.5 sound board to function properly.
