It's my understanding that the real GE ES44AC evolution hybrid demonstrators had charging lights on the sides. I would love to find some video of the charging lights in operation. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, did any of the rail companies keep the charging lights on any of the ES44's that they purchased? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

The only ES44 to get charging lights outright was 2010 when it toured the country showing off the new Evo hybrid system.  It still retains these lights, but there isn't much use of having them activated when it's just out making runs on the test track in Erie. While the paint hasn't held up the best, the engine still gets some use around the plant.  No other road engine ever got the charging light treatment. That said, we're lucky MTH  & Lionel included these on the subsequent releases of 2010.
