Here are some more pics of European trains and yards I took while we were on vacation.  I noticed that almost all large train stations have large rail yards nearby. There are mostly electric, but some diesel locomotives there.  There are both passenger and freight cars in these yards.  I also noticed...that while the actual trains are not...the rail yards have all been hit hard by graffiti...maybe worse than here.  This first set of pics are trains, MoW equipment and yards I photographed from the train we were taking from Rome to Florence.  Unfortunately, I had to take these from our seat on the train...while it was moving.  Sometimes I could not avoid the window reflection.  Sorry...but enjoy.

The graffiti is being perpetrated by foreigners in those countries, mostly Italy it seems.  When we were there in 2011 I noticed it's extent.  Pity there isn't railroad detectives like the one that grabbed me when I was fifteen.  All I was doing was walking through the freight yard looking at the rolling stock.  He came out of nowhere.

I abhor graffiti.  I don't give a **** about their so called artistic talents.  I do give a **** about destroying someones property.

I know many modelers have either painted some of their rolling stock with graffiti and I believe there are some pieces available from manufacturers already painted with it.  I disagree with the mindset behind the thinking as it perpetuates the practice of destroying property.

Just my opportunity to rant about a subject I feel strongly about.

I second that opinion!
