Hi! just got an email that a new Lionel CN SD70Ace is ready to ship to me. I completely forgot that I ordered it! Makes it a nice surprise! Anyone else ever have this experience?

Yes, although I have also forgotten exactly what it was that I forgot, and since the "forgets" cancel each other out, it never happened.
So, no, I guess, really?
Yeah, the last order before this (don't ask me what this last is, a Lionel car, l think). It floated in...SURPRISE! Crazy system..
I forget as soon as I order something, that way, when it shows up, I can say to myself ......"man that was fast"
Nope. I always remember so the funds are available.
Is this a left handed way of bringing up shipping delays?
Seriously, sometimes but mostly not. When I look at the catalogs, I write my order down, then call the dealer and read it off. This way I have a written record which I stuff in a drawer. I don't usually look at them again, but I can if I want to.
When I order I always print the final invoice and place in a file until my items are received. Then I enter my purchase on an excel spread sheet. Usually. However, sometimes I find things that I did not enter on my spread sheets. Kind of like Christmas at any time of the year.

This triggered my memory for the 408E I ordered. I hope it gets delayed so I can purchase other stuff!

I usually don't forget what I ordered, just where I stashed it so the wife doesn't find it.

Sometimes forget what I have but never what I want. Isn't that the American way?
What, me worry?
I was working as the Fireman on passenger trains 18 and 23 in 1970, a really good assignment, and forgot that I had not cancelled my standing bid for the San Bernardino Firemen's Extra Board. However, after I drove 50 miles to Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal and found a Los Angeles Extra Board Fireman signing the book for Number 18, the Crew Office helped me remember what I had forgotten.
On top of that, I was first out for the midnight Outside Hostler at San Bernardino. I drove back home and watched the 6 rednoses of Number 18 pass through town with another Fireman on board.
I have forgotten a few times I ordered something. Was a nice surprise for me. VBG Now I keep a list of all orders in a seperate folder on my desk and check it every now and then.
