I was wondering if any of you who own the LC+ 2.0 0-6-0t switcher know how to make the coupler move up and down less.

What happens is that when it is pulling several cars the first car frequently decouples from the engine because the coupler moves up and down as it pulls and just pops off the first car when it dips down.  Lateral movement is perfect but it moves up and down way too easily causing the problem.  I tightened the Phillips-head screw, but it made no difference.

Anyone experience this and have a cure?

Thanks,

John

Are you talking about the LC+ 2.0 0-6-0T?  If you're talking about that one, try a stiffer coupler pivot spring.  You could also put a couple of washers before the spring to give it more tension and see if that helps.

Don't know if I have the right spring so I guess I could stretch the existing one a bit.  I'll try the washers as well.  I have a lot of different small ones.

Can I just unscrew the Phillips to get at it or does it require disassembly?

Thanks,

John

I believe you can just unscrew that screw at the bottom and attempt the fix.  There is no "right" spring, I would just look through my spring box and pick on and cut it to fit.  I don't routinely try to stretch springs, I'd rather put a couple of washers in to increase the tension.
