Hi,
Coming home from work today, I noticed what appears to be extra doors on the sides of some BNSF autoracks.  I admit I am rather slow at pulling my iPhone out whenever I see something interesting (I wasn't driving, by the way), but hopefully you can see what I'm talking about from the pics I did snap below:

I am curious to know more about this specific body design.

From what I could tell by watching the video these are solid panels.  I would say they are for stiffening the sides to give more structural strength to the car due to the middle and top levels being adjustable.  If the middle and top levels were not movable (fixed in place) you would not need the extra structural strength as the middle and top levels would create the structural integrity.
