That's great news.
Heard rumors the Harriman passenger cars were in the same shipping containers. I have a set reserved so hopefully they'll be on the door step soon!
Not interested! My CB&Q O1a will be delivered on Friday, Sept 8 however.

Jack, If you weren't interested, why did you bother to open the thread? If you weren't interested, why did you bother to read the thread? If you weren't interested, why did you bother to make a post? Apparently, you were interested enough to say "Not interested!"

Well sorry! Guess I should have clarified that I am NOT interested in F7's.

Jack, you cared enough to tell us all you don't care. Just being a Richard for the sake of being a Richard is my job.
Hi Jon,
I wish to thank you for your above post in answer to Mr. Hot Water. Very nice reply, very detailed, very truthful and very straight to the point and you're not trying to hurt anyone's feeling. Perhaps some people will take note.
My best regards
Tommy
Glad to see the Forum is still the Forum. Along with destroying book stores and train shops, the Internet will surely kill civility. Back to the stone age, I say. Virtual clubs over the heads of gleeful hobbyists. Forsooth, thusly didst I prithee mirth and didst they give suck?

All new orders are 2 rail.
I've gotta fill out the 3 Rail collection

Yup. Received my CB&Q O1a on the 8th, unpacked it on the 9th, and she has been running on the layout (after lubrication) ever since. Truly a fantastic model!
Matt,
The Great Northern F7's look great. What work do they (and the Santa Fe's) need (other than shortening the coupling distance between units)?
Steps, Kadee's, retwiring of the lights, 2rail pilots
Seems like Scott was just taking orders for these. Now THAT's how to stay on top of overseas manufacturers so products are delivered to customers before they forget they even ordered them. Other importers please take note.
Scott practically lives in China, he's on top of his schedule.
I got my extra B units to go with the run #1 F7's... as expected, they are incredible. I was curious if anyone could answer about when was the colored barcode next to the Chief on the side of the B unit added? The first run didn't have them and the second run does. I'm sure at some point both are correct, but I would like to know when.

Those are ACI (Automatic Car Identification) Lables for tracking cars and locomotives. Started in 1967, discontinued in 1978. They were hard for the trackside scanners to read when dirty or damaged.

Rusty, thank you for the info!... now I need to figure out how to cleanly remove them as I would prefer to have models representative of early F7's.
Also by the time the ACI labels were introduced 1967 all SF hood diesels had lost the skirting that partially shrouds the fuel tanks.
Im disappointed the Santa Fe units have the lift rings on the nose. They shoudlnt have those without nose grabs
The other change I forgot to point out is that the "one end overhang" from the first run on the B units was corrected. Now their is no overhang on either end and they look much better.
Scott moved the herald so it is no longer over the bolt strap on the B-units, fixed a few complaints but still not enough on the NOSE!
The nose lift rings on the Santa Fe's will bug me but im sure i will get over it. Fixing it is a huge amount of time and effort that Im not willing to endure. OH Well. Life goes on with our first world problems
Matt
Yes I agree with you.
I love when do everything the right way; it's just that that is not always clear. And you have to commend Scott for making positive changes in the latest releases. Somehow, he missed your nose issues!
Yeah, its close enough. If i want perfect I wont get it but close to it comes with a huge price tag. I give Scott tons of credit, he brings great models to market for a reasonable price. Will there be errors, yes, comes with the territory. Will i crucify him for em, no. You should see the mistsakes I make. Just ask my girlfriend, I've screwed up three times this week
