Fall York 2019 Legacy Users Group Update Cancelled as of 8-12-2019 Looking to Fall 2020

Marty, I hope you don't have to discontinue the meetings, we can be flexible.

I've never been able to attend as yet, first York didn't know about it, second York didn't know the time or place. All I can say is, "Argh!" Oh wait, that's the pirate meeting.

All silliness aside, I really do need to get into one of these meetings so I can learn more of what I don't know, and help rember what I always forget.

I completely forgot about Friday morning, I'm going to be over at Strasburg with 611. (Smacks head)

Just dropping a brief note of thanks for all the work you have done organizing this over the years, Marty.

While I won't likely be able to participate for any of these that may occur in the future that are during normal meet hours (I generally get a table these days), I found the meetings a great gathering over the years. 

The work you put into them was obviously quite a lot, especially when you brought significant amounts of hardware with you to show demos of items, do Remote/Base updates for people that did not know how, doing the leg work to get us the space back when Alexander's still was the venue, etc.

So Thank You!  If it comes to it, you've certainly earned the right to step back and just enjoy the meet after all the times you have organized this meeting for all of us in the past!

Just as a side note, I will alway have my upgrade kit with me so I will still be happy to update folk's Legacy Systems or created modules.  We'll set a block of time to do that.

Thanks to Mr. Slie too that has recorded and posted the video of the meetings I've missed.  I've made it to 2, doesn't sound too hopeful for #3 this fall.

Still watching the thread Marty, it'll be a shame if you have to cancel the meeting.

I have heard nothing from the EDTCA about the room availability.  I even gave it over the weekend.

I am officially cancelling the Users Group meeting for the fall.  I am working on something so not all is lost but everyone can sleep in on Friday.  When I know more about the possible project I will post here.

That's a bummer Marty, but I do want to thank you for all the work you've put into these for many years.

Thanks everyone.  If anything changes I'll post here but right now for my own planning purposes and the need to move on an alternate project I think we're, for at least this fall, not meeting in person.

Hopefully in April unless there's something up your sleeve(and I'm not riding on some train somewhere).

Thanks for being the organizer of these meetings all these years.  You've certainly helped to convey some great information about the Legacy system that has helped so many including myself.

I'd like to also thank you for all you have done with the Legacy meetings. I've never attended one in person, but I always look forward to the videos posted after the meetings. 

If things change and a meet is possible, your friends from Tennessee, and Kentucky will be there, Lord willing.  Thank you so much for your helping us learn more about TMCC/Legacy, I-phone and I-pad uses.  Hopefully we can have a brief but informative meet. 

Just a reminder that there will NOT be a Legacy meeting this fall or in the spring contrary to what the York flyer says.  I never did get a response back from the EDTCA on whether the room would be available.  Once we see how the 2 day meet works out we'll see if it's worth revisiting but with a shortened schedule it doesn't look good.  I am still working on something but it won't happen in the near future but hopefully by next fall.

Thanks to everyone that has attended and shared the last 10 years +.  I want to also thank everyone from Lionel past and present employees who always were happy to help.  I am hoping we can collaborate on the next phase if it comes to fruition. 

Thank you Marty, I know I will miss it!

Even though announced today in the halls over the PA, there will NOT be a Legacy Users Group meeting tomorrow morning as we never got confirmation from the EDTCA that we had the room available. We will evaluate whether we continue next fall depending on if we can get the room on Friday later in the morning but with Thursday going away the room may get busy.

I guess wait and see what April will Bring Marty. Hopefully all stuff works out and I will be there to actually get some information on what I need to do more of. See what comes.

I had several folks ask me what the prospect of more meetings would be.  I am open to doing the meeting as long as there is enough interest and we can get a decent time slot in the orange hall meeting room.  I also very much appreciate all the comments and support.

As previously stated the days of an April meeting have passed.  There will not be a April meeting.  I hope to reach out to several people during the upcoming year to see about having a Fall meeting during the day Friday.  Unfortunately we now face a new issue.  With the meet going to 2 days the orange hall meeting room will be busier than ever with previously held Thursday's events will most likely be vying for space on Friday now and since we will do a fall meeting only I suspect we will get the crumbs when it comes to a time slot.  Friday seems to be the logical day as it is the most attended. 

My goal is to have a 30-45 minute meeting and hopefully have input from Lionel.   While we haven't had much new, Ryan seems to think the next year or so could have some fun things coming down the pipeline.   Stay tuned and we'll see what and if we can come up with a meeting.  The shortened meet definitely throws a lot of wrenches into the planning.  No promises.

I hope you can work something out Marty, if you need any help from me, just ask.

I would love to use that room just to the right of the Lionel booth that is now empty but I'm not sure the EDTCA would go for that.  Be very convenient for the Lionel folks to show up.

If it's empty, why would they object?
