Holy smokes. And I was just reading an article by him in a 1980’s issue of Trains. He was always really nice too me at Caboose when he would he come in. Nice guy

They don't need a reason to fire him, yes, but usually you don't just get fired.
Never heard of someone being fired for no reason. Usually there's reasons like the company didn't agree with the person, they couldn't afford to keep them, person wasn't performing at desired level, etc.
Unfamiliar with at-will employment.
There have been several people come & go in recent years--Matt, Kathi Kube just to name two. Might have just needed to trim payroll.

Exactly. Depending on the state, no reason needs to be given. Sometimes from the employer side it is better not to give a reason.
OK....Got some alerts to this thread. I deleted the rude comments and did just a little editing. Now I am going to close this thread because it didn't take too long for it to start downhill.... By the way, I don't think I knew everything when I was 16 so why expect that from one of our young forum members? Heck, I still don't know everything and I haven't met anyone that does....
