In a continuation of the previous topic that I posted, I need help replacing the smoke unit in my Lionel 1-8001 (rock island 4-8-4 northern with steam chest effect) I've already drilled two holes in the MTH PS1 smoke unit's main smoke chamber(where all the smoke oil ends up when you drip it down the stack), and stuck the two rubber tubes for the steam chest effect into said holes(the tubes fit snugly). I've also cut the yellow wire leading to the fan motor in two, to prepare for splicing an improvised chuff switch into the motor. Can anyone walk me through the rest of the process? have I already screwed up?
