I was curious to see what one might do with the new Fastrack 031 curves. I came up with this 4x8 plan. Outer loop is 036 and inner loop is 031.Cross-overs are 060.

That would work for me for a Christmas layout. Are those the O36 switches in place?
The cross-overs are 060's. The rest are 036.
I also came up with this one based on a classic postwar design. This is also 4x8 with all 031 curves and all 036 switches.

I like the 2cnd plan better (#2), it seems more interesting from an operational standpoint. You could add a second siding coming from the top inside the 031 loop to mirror the other siding, and you could put some kind of barrier (buildings, Mountain, or 2 sided backdrop) to force viewing from different perspectives.

Hi Mike. I really like layout #2 I think I have the the curves and sizes counted out correctly. But just to verify, what is the count for materials to set it up? I would like to do this one for my sons 5th birthday next month.

RR-Track updated its FasTrack library to conform to what was actually delivered by Lionel. This update appeared on their website about a month ago.
Any plans that use O31 FasTrack curves need to be re-worked with this new library to get an accurate representation.
