Hi

This question is for the track and layout gurus.

First question; why has Lionel not come out with a 50ish curve Fastrack?

Second question: Would an Atlas 0-54 curve Atlas model number 6060 fit in between Lionel model 12043 048 curve and Lionel 12056 060 curve or am I asking for problems?

Note this is a carpet layout and does not have any buildings or siding to deal with for right now.  The layout is whole bunch of radius from 27 up to and including Fastrack 084.

Lionel FasTrack has 36 - 48 - 60 - 72 - 84" diameter curves which fit with 6" spacing (on centers).

Atlas O-3 has 27 - 36 - 45 - 54 - 63 - 72 - 81" diameter curves which fit with 4.5" spacing.

Atlas O54 between Lionel FT O48 and O60 leaves only about 3" spacing, too close for normal trains.

It may be possible to create a FasTrack triple-track curve fudged with different combinations of short track pieces for closer than 6" track spacing but it would be a bit sloppy geometrically. Atlas O-3 would work better as long as you don't have scale passenger cars and really big articulated locos.
