Fastrack lighted bumpers

I have Fastrak and I make my own bumpers sometimes. They don't have to be lit but you could add LED's.The Lionel earthen bumpers work good.You could add your own LED's to those if you want.Nick

   I use the old metal Lionel 1950's-1960's Red lighted bumpers, rework the feet, make sure the center contact touches the center rail, and use the screws to hold them fast.  Still the best bumpers ever made.

Here's a thread where I described my permanent fixes for the Fastrack bumpers. Just pressing the LED's in isn't going to be a long term fix, there is a significant design problem with how the lights are lit.  My fix starts about halfway through the thread.

PROBLEMS WITH LIONEL FASTTRACK LIGHTED BUMPERS

The only issues I've had with FT lighted bumpers is loose track joints.  If electricity isn't getting to the track then they don't light.  But once I made sure they got power, either via the track or hard wiring them to a transformer, they have never had an issue.

You are one of a select few!

All 4 of mine are 5 years old and have never lit continuously for 2 solid minutes without having to tap, push or jiggle either the bulb or the bumper assembly. Only to sputter or go out again in seconds.

Since pressing in the longer replacement led leads, they have worked perfectly now for 5 days untouched.

I have 5 sidings on my fastrack with earthin bumpers drilled the top put red leds from evans secured the inside with silicone works great for more then 5 yrs now          bob
