I'm curious if anyone knows if this track section can uncouple the older flying shoe style couplers besides the newer magnetic couplers. I've heard it can work with older operating cars that didn't use magnets. But does that include the older couplers also?

It appears so. The controller is just like the old pw version.
Hitting uncouple will power the acc. rails properly, and the magnet at Thethe same time. The connection ro rail orientation changes when you press the unload button.

Thank you for the info. I didn't want to buy a section if it wouldn't work with my prewar stuff.
Hey I noticed you just purchased a 763e was wondering what you paid for it as I just bought one this week. I see yours came with the boxes, mine did not.
It cost $1,900. I'm not sure if that is a good price or not but a local place had it and I could try it before I bought it and examine it.
Ok thank you for the insight I really appreciate it. Does everything work? All original or restored? I bought mine for 1500 without any boxes so by the time I find them, if I even can, I will probably have the same if not a little more invested.
Mine seems all original. I can't really run it as my layout is too small. I ordered some Fastrack for a carpet central. Hench why I'm asking some technical questions about Fastrack. I've always used tubular but for a carpet central I get why Fastrack is best.
I will say I am amazed at how quiet it is. I've had can motor locos that aren't this quiet.
The front and rear trucks were missing some hardware and what was there was miss-assembled. But from looking around here that seems common.
I'm glad I got one and I'm still amazed I got one. Honestly seeing as how they don't require special track or special coupler equipped cars. I think they are better to have than a 700E. I'm sure that is heresy to say but that is my opinion.
I almost forgot to add that mine was supposedly gone through before the previous owner got it. Considering how well it runs and that everything is very well lubricated. I could believe it.
That sounds awesome. I have bought several trains (1940 226e, 1946 726, 1950 736, 1940 763e and 1946 and 1948 671 O and 2 OO sets with the plan to just display. However, now I want to set up some track and run them. My 763e is from a former owner of Lionel (not sure if you saw that in my post so it was professionally serviced from one of his associates before I purchased it since he passed away). I plan on taking it to a local train shop to see if they can run it and inspect while I am getting set up.
I did see it sell on Ebay. Looked nice. Did it include a tender? The listing seemed vague on that. Just curious.
The tender was not originally included but he had it so i worked it into the deal and got the price down a little because of the missing boxes. Has paperwork from the auction house but I am going to work on contacting them and see if I can get some additional proof. I will let you know how that goes.
Good luck
Do you know anything about OO series from the late 1930s?
Just what they publish in books. I've only seen some of it in person once. Seems like nice stuff. Out of my price range though.

It definitely does. You will need to push "Unload" to operate the electrocoupler via the control rails. Here is a link to the manual:
