Doing some expansion on my layout. My plan required me to  switch the lantern to the opposite side of an 0-72 wye. I had a bear of a time getting this "pin" back in. It goes from the outer rail to the base of the lantern. However once I finished I could not understand the purpose of it. It has no mechanical or electrical connection to anything. Anyone??? Nick

Its purely for asthetics Nick. It represents the rod that would throw the switch points. As seen in the bottom photo.

I know how your feeling though. I spent 20 minutes figuring out where that rod came from, when it fell out of mine after I flipped the lantern location.

Thanks Rick I have done this before and I swear I don't remember having this problem....pin probably fell on the floor and I never noticed it hahahaha. Nick
