I am enjoying the MTH WiFi app on both my iPhone and iPad.  But, I have experienced several derailments due to my finger pressing full speed (120 mph) rather than the intended "+" sign.  Obviously, this commands the loco to increase its speed to 120 mph as I process "what the heck just happened".  My first reaction is to move the throttles to zero.  Best case scenario is that the trailing cars derail as the locomotive comes to an abrupt stop.  Worse case scenario is that the fast moving train plows into another train.

I found an option to set the max speed under the "gear" menu.  This seems to work fine for an individual engine, but there is no option to set the maximum speed for a lash up.  I tried setting individual engines to a max speed of 55 mph, but when lashed together the max speed is 120 mph.

Any suggestions on how to limit the lash up speed is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom Jasper

You are probably way ahead of me, but did you try setting each engine after the lash up is created? I think that is the way it works with the remote, but I have not tried it with the app. That is if the setting is even still available that way? I have not done a lash up in quite some time and have never tried setting the speed afterward...

Maybe Barry or others with more knowledge than me will be along.

Good thought about the sequence.  I will delete the lash-up, then set the speed on the two locos that I want to lash-up, lash them up and see if the max speed is reduced.  If this works or not, I will reply, but probably with a more descriptive title.  You are the only one that replied to my initial post probably because of my attempt at humor in the title.  Thanks, Tom

You were very clear in your earlier response, which is what I initially did.  Then, I thought well maybe I should do it in reverse and that didn't work either.  I don't believe the app allows the operator to set a max speed for a  lash up, and hopefully this will be addressed in a future release.  But, we will see what replies I get after I re-post the issue tomorrow with a different, more concise title.  Thanks for replying.
