I can only guess that there are some lucky fathers out there!

While I don't get to pick mine up until Saturday, it is the appreciation I feel receiving it from my wife and daughter.

A #248 with #629 & #630 passenger cars. My First tinplate train. (Via thegandydancer!)

Did My initial set up on a carpet oval with MTH's DCS - Nice system! Especially after I got past my 'duh' moment! (Can't get the remote to recognise the locomotive if it is set to be looking at the 'other' track.

All is well im the simplist of operation. Will move forward from here!

Daughter home from school. She made fresh homemade biscuits for breakfast. Son had a great day on Saturday playing in 7 on 7's. Son and Daughter made a Fathers Day card with a collage of picutes of themselves. Got to spend the day with the family as they watched todays race with me. Favorite driver won. Brought back very fond memories of 4 years ago when my son and I were at Michigan for his last win. That was back when it was OK to spend time with dad.

Over all a great weekend that happened to include Fathers Day.

Great story and great day, We also watched "Little E".

I enjoyed a hearty meal at my favorite restaurant with all the kids except the one who is at Air Force training in Texas. I begged everyone beforehand for a nice get-together, rather than any "stuff". I have more than enough trains for the space I have, and more than enough of everything else as well. We let marketing dictate too much of what holidays are all about.

I got calls from 2 of my kids (1 out of town and 1 who just had a baby, so yesterday was his first Fathers Day!), the 3rd one came by the golf course (I had to work yesterday) with a load of homemade cupcakes.  All the guys in the pro shop enjoyed them.  I wore most of mine when 1/2 the top fell off, hitting my shirt and landing on my shoe

My wife made me go buy some shorts and a shirt, plus I should be getting a small shipment of brass parts from Stevenson Preservation Lines any day now, for my 4-6-0 project

I recieved my missing link for the MOPAC stable I have....a WBB MOPAC BL-2.  I've waited a longggg time to get one of these, and the wait was worth it.

The rest of the day was spent with my youngest son, 19 years young, working on the layout.  Son #1 and #2 were working ( double shifts to cover for father's day) at their summer job's while home from college.

My wonderful bride worked magic in the kitchen and now I'm a few pounds heavier.

Actually, the best gift of all is the time together....the kids are getting older and will be going their own way soon enough.

I spent Father's day with my beautiful wife and two boys. We spent the day at home trying to teach my 2 year old how to drive his powerwheels big jake dump truck that I found at a yard sale for ten bucks. Then we had a nice maryland crab feast on our deck, and some ice cold beer. We finished with a treat of red velvet cupcakes! A great day indeed!

Went out for brunch with my wife and spent the afternoon working on the Downeast Scenic Railroad's 70 ton GE.  I often rode a train pulled by the same 70 tonner down at the B&ML on fathers' day when my kids were young.  Talked to my daughters, they're grown and live away.  My wife gave me a set of Williams Madison cars.  Had a great day.  Any day riding or working on a train is a good day.

Had a very nice day with my wife, two sons and their girlfriends. My one son prepared barbacued steaks on the grill which were cooked to perfection.

And the surprise was a train that was delivered to my home on Monday from my wife.

What a huge surprise as it turned out to be a Lionel V.L. hudson.

I must have done something right. But then again mabe there is game plan she has in mind.

A great fathers day that will be hard to beat.  Left home Sat Morn going to St. Louis to see daughter and family.  Then we detoured to accept an invite to see Alex and Judy Muller and their layout and their beautiful home.  Alex's layout is one to die for and the lunch prepared by Judy was just fabulous.  After lunch we said our good byes and went on to St. Louis to our daughters home.  Our son-in-law Chris prepared a great supper that had to add a few pounds.  Then on Sunday, he smoked chicken and pork and fixed other goodies.  While we were waiting for the feast we got to play wiht our grand daughter.  The dinner was great and every body had a great time.  It was hard to return home on Sunday, but we won't forget this Special Father's Day.
