Hello All,

So the retirement countdown has begun and I hope to be retired and moved in three years.  I'm planning an S gauge layout with Flyer Hi Rail and was wanting to start getting track materials.  What is everyone's favorite track to use?  I was thinking AMerican Models or Gargraves....

If you are looking 3 years into the future and if you are considering flex track, I would think the only choice would be the SHS clone.  I believe it is now Fox Valley.   The rail is .138" which is great for original AF as well as Hi-rail and scale.  It is be far the easiest to work with.  American Models code 148 rail is tough to bend and so far they only have a #4 turnout.  FV has a #5 and I think more turnout numbers in the works.  You can easily mix AM and the SHS clone trackage.

The only thing I can say about Gargraves is stay away from it.  I have a large pile of their flex and some #6 turnouts I would like to sell.  I don't know if they changed their design, but the old stuff is terrible.
