Feast or Famine

General rule of thumb: 

If you have the money to purchase something no one will have it for sale. If you don't have the money to purchase something then the item you want will be available from multiple sources.

When looking for a particular train item, train, Locomotive, set and/or rolling stock, I check the available online auction site. Sometimes I find very little if anything. Then on other occasions I find an abundance of what I'm looking for. It just all depends on when sellers list and how many items have been listed.

Was looking for some tinplate items about a year ago, not much. Looked today and found at least 4-6 of those same items I was looking for. Keep looking, it will eventually be listed.

If you save a product search to your saved searches folder on that auction site you can have alerts sent to your email when those items are listed.
