Where's Ted Rose when you need him?

It would be an honor to sell his work. It is also a goal of ours to sell an original Fogg and Teller at a future sale.
Ted knew how to capture the grittiness of real railroading. Most of the artwork in that auction is...how can I put this...amateurish in comparison. But I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I suppose that's the wonderful thing about art. There are so many different styles. From ultra realistic to toy like and beyond. We feel like we have a really good mix in this sale.

It is interesting that they used recordings by O. Winston Link in the video.
The thing I've always admired about Ted Rose was his ability, even when the train was the biggest thing in the picture, to give you the impression he had painted a scene that just happened to have a train in it as opposed to a picture that was of A train. For example
State Line Tower - Every time I look at this picture I'm there. That big 757 has just blasted past my position, I can feel the wind driven snow due to its passing hitting my face and I can smell the mix of hot oil, sulfur and coal smoke. I also get a sense of wanting to brace myself because in a second or two that fast approaching engine is going to do the same thing all over again.
