Nope.

And, once again, I was disappointed to not find Dennis (Arttista) at York.  But considering all of the discussion on rising costs, declining attendance, etc., etc., blah, blah, I readily understand why he might not participate any longer.  I check Arttista's website occasionally to see if there are some new folks in town.

And I'm also a tad perplexed as to why Woodland Scenics has turned off the 'people' faucet of late.  Even though they have a generous assortment of figures in HO, their replication in O scale is only a fraction thereof.  A few years back I learned from one of the WS techs that their figures are actually created/sculpted in the large scale (a.k.a., G scale).  They're simply sized down in the creation of molds for the smaller scales.  Pity, then, that the plethora of people we see in their HO line don't find their way into the O scale offering from time to time.

Every time I wander through the Scenics Express' booth at York I see a figure or two I didn't know they offered.  Can't say that means they're new....I just don't have perfect memorization of their catalog at my age.

Maybe others spied something at York in this topic that I missed.

Good question, though.

Not sure how popular these are, but I've purchased about 10 people from BM-Toys out of Belarus. Some really unique characters - e.g. I bought Pope John Paul II and Travis Bickle (Robert DiNero in Taxi Driver). They are pricey but if you want something different he has some fun stuff - http://stores.ebay.com/bmtoys143figurines/.

I came across these while poking around on ebay after drinking Irish whiskey. I found out Irish whiskey is a buying agent as whenever I have it while looking, I end up buying. I was a little hesitant to buy these at first because of the price and the fact it says it'll take 4-6 weeks for delivery. Okay, so I send immediate payment through PayPal to someone I don't know in Belarus and hope they come in as described, if at all.

Lo and behold, had them in about 2 weeks time, sometimes 3 postmarked Russia with love. All but one are made of white metal with the other being resin. I'm sure I'll buy a couple of more specialty people again. In actuality, he offers 14 day refunds and the purchase falls under the PayPal and ebay protection programs. Not as risky as my mind made it out to be. It's a small world, after all.

I do wish that he offered a discount for multiple purchases as the price is all inclusive of shipping. He packages the people together so when you get just 1 v buying say 5, the cost for shipping is the same for him, but you paid full price. But hey, Pope John Paul II and Travis Bickle...
