This old and not well know noir film takes place almost totally on a train or station. Of course they get the stock shots of trains a bit mixed up but its a very enjoyable picture.
Here's the trailer.

"Listen, jingle-jaw..." I love it.
Made in 1952.
Kent in SD
It was on TCM several weeks ago, I enjoyed it very mush. Why not, trains and b&w film it doesn't get much better. Jim
Trains were just a great setting for film noir. I always loved double Indemnity and its train scenes. This is even better, set on a train.
The conductor, who appears in the trailer for a few seconds, was Harry Harvey. He played the sheriff in many episodes of the Roy Rogers tv show & balso appeared many times on the Lone Ranger.
Guys,
I love the dialogue , the intrigue used and the narrow camera angles, close ups without kissing. Ah, those were the days! Traveling on a shoe string budget!

I had also seen most of the film on TCM while on a treadmill at the gym. Found it on Netflix DVDs that I have a subscription to.

Trainnut56,
I couldn't have said it better!
Looks very good. I watch TCM a good but, but missed this one. I am trying to think of the one I saw just a week or two ago on TCM in the evening that was on a train. It was good too.
Scotie,
Thanks for pointing this one out to us!!
The acting is the flamboyant and overstated style of the 1940's. I recall sitting in a theatre as a kid and thinking to myself, "people don't act that way in real life"! Nonetheless, it did grab your attention! Today's "method" actors are for the most part boring.
