While driving past the site this week I noticed that the last Lima Locomotive Works building is gone.  The rest of the complex had been demolished in the 1990's but this one building - the former Superheater Shop - was left standing at that time because it was in such good shape.  It could be seen in the background of some C&O 2-6-6-6 and NKP S-2 Berks (first order, 740-755) and maybe other builders photos.

Local government had a contractor working on site to remove the last of the slabs and foundations and now the last extant LLW building is gone.  It was located along the east side of the site, parallel to the B&O.

The building in question is number "13".  There is an electric substation on the south side of Building 13 and one or both show up in the background of many builders photos including C&O 1625.

Army tanks were built during WWII in separate buildings on the LLW grounds.  The Abrams M1A1 battle tanks were built in the 1970's (and still being modified today) in a non-LLW facility about 1 Mi. southwest along the former NKP - now RJ Corman.
