MTH and others have come out with some nice refrigerated beer cars but many are from other parts of the country I’m either not familiar with or can’t get in the Boston area so when I found this new club car from LOTS it was a no brainer!   Cheers! 🍺

Awesome Chris!! Should look really cool next to your brewery too!

I was vaguely familiar with some of the brands that were custom run cars that were discussed on here earlier.  Having collected the beer cans in my feckled youth.  It was interesting learning the history of the breweries and such.  Nothing wrong with beer.  I only drink Heineken anymore since I had chemotherapy.  And not too many.  But if you poured a Gablingers or Schaefer in a glass and put it in front of me I’d probably figure out a way to put it down.  And enjoy every drop.  Cheers.

First of all, yes they are scale. And yes, they are nice. Very nice. It is every bit as nice as the Atlas Steam Era Classics beer reefers. Nicer than the K-Lines.

As for Yuengling, sorry but it was offered by LOTS already. I'd need to check my box, but I think this was offered 2-3 years ago. There was one that sold on 8/25/18 on eBay for > $150. They're out there if you really want one.

Beer reefers aren't really my thing, but a few years ago, a friend wanted one advertising Old Frothingslosh.  I'd never heard of it, but he's from Pennsylvania and loved it during his college years.  So somehow I obtained the artwork (it's been quite a while) and completely filed off all side details from an S Helper Service car and applied the decal.  From even a foot away, it looks OK, so I guess it was worth it, if for nothing else but to see the look of happiness on a friend's face.

Jerry, I am fairly sure that it was a novelty product of the Duquesne Brewing Company brought out around the Christmas holidays. The tag line was: "The Stale Pale Ale with the Head on the Bottom." There was a rather rotund lady on the label!

Thanks Tom- I did some hunting last night and found a few. A little $$$$$ for a box car IMHO.

Chris Lonero - The Sam Adams is a great looking beer car.  I have mine ordered from LOTS.

Chris Lord - I have the Schaefer beer car ordered from NJ Hi-Railers.  Any idea when it will be available?

Gilly - Yeah, about 2 years ago on the Yuengling car, which rides in my 12 beer car consist on the overhead layout.  Another great looker.  A guy can never have too many of those....

Did the same thing.  Only found one listed at a bill and a half for "buy it now."  Even more pricey than it was when I didn't buy the first time around.

Here's a pic of me at the only place in the world where you can have a cold Sam Adams in front of a cold Sam Adams (words of the tour guide, not me).  Between the woman jogging and the pole with the traffic sign is Sam Adams' grave - the tombstone looks like it is touching the pole under the "no right turn" sign.    This was taken a few years ago at the Granary Burying Ground in Boston.

Weaver also did a Sam Adams themed car:

Note that it was a 3-rail car when I bought it and I planned on 2-railing it. After I removed the trucks/couplers (and gave them to a friend), I noticed the lack of proper reporting marks and data. At that point, I returned it to the box and cancelled the project.

You don’t have an email in your profile. I have a question about your car. My email is trmn311@comcast.net. Thanks.
