not sure if i like it, a second one will be closer to correct angles, but this is a rural country bridge and is only one way. felt it should look like the county has very little money and painting a 100 yr old bridge not in the budget

Really good start to bridge building.
You have to start somewhere.
I'm with Spence. Keep what you like, change what you don't, and your next bridge will look even better... The important thing is you built this one. It's 100% better than not trying at all.

next structure like this will be made with a jig, so that each trestle is identical to the other. currently mine is about 1/16" inch off on one side, and in scale that is a lot being that 1/4" is for all practical purposes a foot. my pilings at scale are 12"X12" and whatever length is needed. Turn of the century plenty of trees that filled the bill
yup got two more needed, both will carry weight, and then redo this one
love to find some thing that looks like bolt head. i do have little nails that actually could pass as bolt heads with touch of color. being critical of my work is needed and i feel i did so far a pretty good deal on color and the plank road bed aint bad
That is really okay. Nothing wrong with thia at all.
Keep up the good work.
Great start & well done.

Try finding some rivets at your local hardware store and cut off the posts And glue the heads. They may be the right size for your project.

that's a nice start on bridge building. if you are looking for something like nut and bolt castings Grandt line has many different styles of them. check them out on the web.
Straight pins should work. Just dull the head a bit or paint them black.
