I sit here thinking first we had cab control in conventional. then we went to tmcc and dcs. then tmcc gave way to legacy cab-2.

now LCS is the new operating setup being built.

so how long before LCS is obsolete and the new speak to your train layout becomes reality?

this isn't as far fetched as one might think the cell phones already have a talk function has bugs in it but yet it is already here!

am just looking to see if anyone else is thinking hey why look at a device push buttons that detract from watching my engines and cars roll by when I could do both at same time watching it happen as I speak.

there you go Jon Z.  Mike R. and Mike Wolf the gauntlet has been sent to you lets see who thinks its remotely possible?

or is it already in the R&D teams hands?

so what do the rest of you think?

I already talk to my trains now, when they get into their sometimes very un-cooperative moods (not repeatable here). Some say this is due to operator error, but I certainly know better.

Actually I like the tech and electronic stuff a lot, but I also prefer the current DCS remote and Legacy Cab-2 for running trains.

"Siri, take train #3439 to track two and wait for instructions from dispatch, train #1529 takes the siding at Petticoat Junction until further instruction from Uncle Joe". Hmmm...maybe that doesn't sound so bad after all? I bet that would really do a lot to promote the hobby for the young tech savvy folks. May turn out to be a pretty good idea here? Guess I'll have to trade in my flip phone for an iphone.
