I plan on using my BEEP and BEEF locos on my portable layout as it has some O-27 track. And to go along with the loco's I thought I'd build some cars that would work well on O-27 and look like they belong with the BEEP and BEEF's! Here is the first one out of the shop......
I still need to add some reporting marks but the work is complete for the most part. It started out as a Industrial Rail covered hopper. I cut out the center section with a chop saw with plastic/metal blade in it. This allowed me to almost get away with no paint!! A small amount of touch up was needed all on the bottom.
Now you may say I ended up with a ore car and I could just buy that....but I wanted a mini PRR H30 covered hopper look and not an ore car look. It is about 22 scale feet and looks great behind the BEEF's!!!
Up next is a Mill Gondola.....but not a 70 footer for sure!!
