Got  bored with the oval loop, so I dug out some more track, and a #20 cross-over.

I started with the 2nd version of the #20, wide-tie with the painted red center (no insulation, 1913-?), but that was pretty violent.

So I found #20, version 3, which has the full metal base, painted gray, and the red fibre strips and block in the center.  A little kinder to the sliding-shoe pick-up, but still noisy under the cars.

You have to hit the X-over at a fair clip, or the loco will stall on the fibre center.

 In the 2nd clip, you can see X-over #20.2 laying in the RH loop.

#38 earned her keep last night. 🙂
