Hi,
Well, here is a shot of my first attempt at a train layout for Xmas. A bit of Marx, Hafner, Chein, and a German station. Next year I need to try to light up the buildings.

That picture is chock full of nostalgia. Thanks for posting.
John, who needs to get going on his Christmas layout.
Kevin,
I love a Tin Plate Christmas layout, great job. Sometimes the simple layouts are more impressive than any big modern layout. Thanks for a look at your Tin Plate Christmas!
John,
Finally got mine completed, get in gear man.

Very nice, Kevin. Looks great.
This year's setup.

That might be your first attempt, Kevin, but I'll bet it won't be your last! Looks great!
And congrats to Kevin for his upcoming layout feature in, well, the other publication.
Looking forward to it.
Looks great Kevin. Tinplate and Christmas trees, doesn't get any better than that. This was our set up a few years ago.
Very nice images all. Joe, we had really old stuff when I was growing up, silver tree with the rotating stand and changing color wheels on the spot lights. Recall all the neighbors had the green artificial trees by then. Reminds me of some good times.
Folks said they used to get real trees flocked and sprayed in pastel colors. Anyone have pictures? A girls train and a pastel tree? Cool!
Excellent work there Kevin. You did a really great job making sure the red and green are the predominant colors.
These layouts can sometimes be integrated into a more permanent layout too.
Just sayin'
:-)
Absolutely charming, Kevin - sure looks like 1939!
The more I see tinplate around the tree the more it grows on me. I'm going to seriously have to consider picking up a set.

Thanks Michael. I don't remember the model off the top of my head. It's a double-sided cabinet type. The right side has the record player with the sound louvers below. The left side has a flat storage area up top and record storage down below.
This one isn't mine but looks similar except my lid is in two separate pieces.
Kevin,
Now that is a cool mix you have there. Thanks for sharing with us.
NJC JOE,
VERY NICE PICTURES. I LIKED YOUR RED ENGIBE ALSO.
Pine Creek,
Very very nice Christmas picture. Thanks for sharing.

Dave - Very amusing take on the Christmas tree/train display! Love your Hafner set. Merry Christmas!

I have my Great Grandfather's 1903 Victor Talking Machune.
Sweet layout Kevin. Enjoy
I finally got a bit of Christmas Spirit and decided to put up a Tree.
If you look close, you can see it in the photo, it's in B-9's right pincer(hand).
Merry Christmas...
Dave
Dave...is that the Lost In Space robot. Awesome. I had too look hard but I do indeed see your Christmas Tree. That's one great robot...is B-9 it's name?

Thanks for sharing both of you. Vintage music equipment is another one of my interests.

Jeff,
B-9 was usually referred to as "Robot" on the 'Lost in Space' show, but it's name/nomenclature was B-9.
B-9 got the "scale"mixed up on the tree and ornament!
