Well, I finally got around to unpacking my CC726 passenger set and putting up on the man cave display track.

I sat pack to admire it when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye.  In my enthusiasm in unpacking the set I hadn't noticed the 2628 Manhattan Pullman was missing the car name on one side!

First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin?

It appears I've been blessed with a January curse!  Last year around this time I picked up a Flyer loco that was missing the striping on one side.(Lionel did replace the shell)

Everything else with the set is fine, I'm not sure if I'm going to go through all the bother of sending the car back for a replacement.  I'll have to sleep on it.

If a 50 madison car was missing a word it would be worth thousands.  If this is one mistake and not something on all...I expect it to be quite desirable.  Just buy another and swap out and keep.

I agree 100% as I own a set of late 1940's cars with no numbers. Over the years I collecterd an Irvington, a Madison, and a Manhattan all with names but never stamped with any numbers. On eBay I saw but did not buy a modern Irvington car with no printing on one side. There seems to be a pattern of errors on this type of car over the decades. Hang onto yours IMO as someday it will be worth as much as the entire set.
