I notice that the newer TIUs (Rev L.) have a red light that flashes once on power up in addition to the usual TIU "power on" indicator light. What is the purpose of that additional light. Thanks, Joe

One flash means it is set to TIU 1. If it flashed twice it would be TIU 2. This is if you are using multiple units.
Actually, the older TIU's also have the LED that flashes out the TIU # as well.
There is another led there, forget what it is for. But not important to the operator. G
I'd hazard a guess that the second LED is a boot-up diagnostic LED. It lights on power-up and goes out after about a second. I've never seen it light again.
George and John.
That's the one! It flashes once on power-up and does not light again as John says.
I was wondering why the need for that when previous versions didn't have it. Seems to serve no useful purpose for the operator and no comments from MTH as to why the need for same now. Could it be something to do with the WI-FI application?
Thanks, Joe
Joe,
Could it be something to do with the WI-FI application?
No, it does not. Further, the LED pre-dates the DCS App by several years.
Thanks Barry. Joe
Like Barry says, it was there long before WiFi. I'm 99% sure it's a startup diagnostic LED that just signifies that the initialization has completed. That's the only logical use for it, many uP controlled devices have similar indications.
