Whats your favorite Flat Car load???
I have made several flat cars with tractors as loads and they get more attention than anything else on the board.

I make flat car loads out of crazy stuff that is as far from prototypical as it comes. Strap down a Roz figure from Monsters Inc. The kids love it.
I love the MTH auto carriers and have most of them. My favorite is the Caterpillar "Cat" Haulers
Menards has been issuing some awesome products. My favorite flat load is the Coast Guard helicopter. I would like to see Menards make a line of flats with helos from the military services (hint, hint, hint)
garret
those cat haulers are way cool!!!!!!!!!!
very rare and hard to come by.....
Temporary loads using the same K-Line car:
1:48 scale Saturn V F-1 engine.
Narrow Gauge Porter.
1:48 scale Mercury capsule.
Rocket on a flatcar?
This was not actually a flatcar, but the frame of a standard gauge 117 caboose I modified into a "museum car":
And then there's this little "gadget":
The golf ball with the thermonuclear core.
If you look real close at the left of this 2010 photo you can see mortars, cannon and etc. on flats behind the James Gang General:
A Flat car load of a Williams SD -45 Traction Motor obtained in Free Junk box at a recent
train show.

Becky there's an awful lot of space modeling going on in your house. I got a big kick out of the thermonuclear golf ball. I wonder how much distance it would add to a drive?

Don't know about drive but it should at least guarantee a hole in one!
I'm also a space cadet:
But it's time to rebuild them all in the same scale! The 1:24 M.O.L. on the far left is almost as tall as the 1:96 Saturn V!
Andy is that a rare prototype?

I think it's a "Flyonelarx".
Tanks!

I made a pipe load for my Menards long flat car. 1/2" aluminium tubing painted black. The stakes are 1/8' basswood. I run it in a "pipe train" made up of gondolas with similar loads.

Close. It's a Marican Flyer! Not shown is the reel car that carries the power cord. LOL

Lockons in a gondola would be a good addition!
I have it packed away but I put a HO scale Lionel black girder bridge on a flat car and it looks great I need to see if I can find a pic of it.
