I have a TIU that was determined to be unrepairable without replacing the "main board", which I would guess is not a part available to most service entities.

Does MTH offer any type of factory exchange service for DCS components?  A service where for a flat fee I get a rebuilt and working TIU back from MTH.  It's a revision H1 and is cosmetically fine.  It powers on, responds to the remote, and took the software upgrade.  However it always reports "no engine to add".

I have a complete new revision L set on order, so this is not something I need to do, but before putting it in the landfill I wanted to check. Didn't see anything on the MTH website except links to service centers.  I don't want to pay to ship this thing around the country without knowing it will be fixed or replaced.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Alan

Alan,  MTH would have gone through the same process I did.  I talked to them twice while troubleshooting this one.  Normally, if not repairable it is more cost effective to replace.

You can call service to ask, but this is not a board they would refurbish back at the factory for resale.  The newer Rev L is  a different internal board.

I would not trash it.  You do have internal parts such as fuses, receiver board, terminals and such that can come in handy if the Rev L has something happen to it.  G
