Hi folks, I know unique and interesting flatcar loads get discussed from time to time, so here's a little something from my work. What you have here is a large feed water heat exchanger that is part of a power plant boiler system. Its sitting on an old school 40 flat car that just happens to be equipped with 3 axle trucks and is rated for 100 tons. The fw heater weighs about 30 tons.
The heat exchanger was actually delivered by truck and then transferred to the flatcar to move it out of the way until it is needed next month. Trackmobile pictures are just for bonus.
