Evening y'all. I have a 1949-1951 version of the 3469 Coal Dump Car. After the coal dump operation, the floor of the car lowers but the opening side does not return to the closed position. Anyone fixed this?
Tighten the screw at the end of the car where the gear is...if it's no loose open the screw a little and adjust the gear by closing the dump door and tighten the screw again... it should solve your problem.
You loosen the screw holding the gear tight. You open the car all the way to the dump position and hold it there. You snug up the screw so it's almost fully tightend, and hold the screwdriver so it stays in that position as you close the car while pushing the gate shut. Once it's in its correct position closed, tighten the screw down.
