I was a little bummed to find out that last Saturday I literally drove right past a train meet in Foley Alabama on my way to Orange Beach. After learning about it on another post I decided to take a morning with my Dad and my Son to head over to check out the museum anyway. Had a really nice time. Its a small station but has a lot of nice O scale memorabilia and a very nice running layout. We met Ernie, one of the folks who works there. You'll see a photo of him letting my son Max press the horn button as Ernie explained that he can run dozens of locomotives with the same remote. Sorry about the blur on some of the action shots, I couldn't quite get the camera on the right setting. They had a beautiful Live Steam 4-6-2 in the lobby and several cars and a switcher outside to climb on and inspect. My Dad seemed to enjoy teaching my son just about anything we looked at like the different types of truck axles and how they were lubricated and serviced, etc..
All in all an enjoyable day. If you make the trip to Orange Beach it makes for a nice hour or so visit.
Enjoy the photos.
