I am waiting and hoping that Menard's re-stocks the weathered Union Pacific boxcars on their website. They are listed as sold out online but could be available at their stores. I am in New Jersey, no Menard's here. Closest one is in Ohio.

Is Menard's making another production run on these? Above you will see why I can't buy them locally.

Please, Menard's, produce more of these. I want a 6 pack of them to run. ( not to drink a 6 pack).

Thank you.

Hi Ted,

We don't have plans to reissue these at the moment, but I will never rule out the possibility of a reissue at a later date. These are becoming quite rare and it looks like there are only a handful left in our stores.

Here's what you do.

1. Call one of the numbers listed below and you will reach someone from the Hardware desk.

2. Ask the Team Member to look up a "seasonal" train item for you and give them the SKU number (279-2620). They should be able to locate the item from that information.

3. Once they find the item, you will complete a credit card transaction, including the cost of the item and shipping to your home.

I know it's not the most ideal situation, but if you are really looking for the Weathered UP Boxcars, this is your best chance.

Mark the Menard's guy,

Thank you for being so helpful. I located 5 of them and having them shipped directly to me with the 11% rebate which I am going to use on a future online order.

This type of assistance from the folks here on this forum makes it the best. And the customer service people in your stores that I spoke to were extremely helpful.

Thank you, Thank you!!

Ted,

I'm really glad everything worked out! I will pass along compliment!

I would like to mention that our 11% rebates can only be used for in-store purchases. However, we don't mind if you sell or trade the rebate checks, there are usually 1 or 2 people on the forum who would happily take them off your hands. Or you could come visit us in the Midwest! Feel free to save them up because they never expire and they never lose value.

MG Brown,

Freeport had them packed away with the seasonal trains on a pallet and they were more than willing to go through it to see what they had. So... I called Fort Wayne who had 5 of them very easily accessible, even though they were packed with the seasonal trains. Called back Freeport to let them know I found some.

The folks in the stores are very helpful and accommodating.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Wow Ted- are you sure we are talking about the same store? LOL

The boxcars (and other train items) were with the toys and not packed away when I visited the Freeport store- I suppose they could have packed them after I visited... anything is possible.

The bottom line is that I am glad you got what you needed and that the Menards team impressed you in a positive manner!

Mark, in reality the rebate program is not an incentive for us that live in a state where there are no Menards.  To sell/trade rebates isn't likely to happen either.  How feasible would it be to allow rebates to be credited toward purchases made by those of us who live in a state where there are no Menards?

Wild Mary,

Menards rebates have been around as long as I can remember and I don't think will ever change. The rebate program is a tool used to promote foot traffic within our stores. I think the majority of folks recognize that we are a home improvement company and we rely heavily on our in-store sales.

I won't disagree that rebates are not as effective for folks living outside the Midwest. But I can assure you that whether you save them, sell them or trade them, they still have value.

For folks looking for other types of incentives, we offer online-only promotions quite frequently. This is our way of catering to our online crowd. If our low prices and excellent customer service aren't enough reason for someone to purchase from us, keep an eye out and you might catch a free item promotion!
