Hi Folks,

I was looking for a little consist to go with a LionChief Philadelphia & Reading camelback. Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be all that many photos of Reading passenger equipment on on the web. Last year, MTH catalogued item 30-69185, a four-car 60' steel heavyweight madison set. While I think they would look great, I was wondering if they had any prototypical basis at all or are they just a fantasy play? In the end, that may be good enough for me, but I was still curious...

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to all,

Jim

I'm not familiar with the LionChief Philadelphia & Reading camelback. The Lionelcatalog shows only the scale (size?) models.

If you want to represent postwar Reading, cars with clerestory roofs do not show up in any photos I've found.

K-Line made modernized Reading passenger stock in 15" and 18" lengths. There are some 15" cars on eBay now.

If you're not a stickler for such authenticity, or model pre-war, I wouldn't worry.

Check the MTH website under product locator and see if you can find any Philadelphia & Reading Railways & Mining Company passenger cars.

Reading Company was not until after 1912 or later, so if you are time frame conscience the Reading Company cars won't fit the bill.

Reading Lines was the freight side of the Reading railroad after the early 1900's break-up of the Philly & Reading.
