Went to Connecticut this past weekend and saw some cool railroad stuff there so I thought I'd share. I was driving on 91 and happened to see a concrete cylinder out of the corner of my eye. Turns out it was the old coal tower from the Cedar Hill yard outside New Haven. I took a few pics of it and what's left of the yard. Also went to the Danbury Railway Museum to take some reference photos. They recently added "FDR's personal baggage car" to their roster. Cool stuff!

I usually get to the Danbury Railway Museum at least once each summer but the virus kept me home this year. Another interesting attraction in Connecticut is the Shoreline Trolley Museum in East Haven.

Should be at the Danbury Railway Museum. Both control cars and one intermediate car are privately owned, however.

If you are interested in the New Haven, you should check out this long running thread (currently 22 pages), populated by many recovering NH addicts
I think it’s neat to stumble across these old coaling towers! I discovered an old L&N coaling tower while visiting a tank car shop in Paris, TN two years ago.

That is probably the nicest car to operate up there. I had a chance one evening after hours as we were moving cars around to replace a group of burned-out light bulbs in the various barns. I did not want to put that one away!
